MOND made the most of home comforts after seeing this Runcorn FA Saturday Cup tie switched at the last minute to Pavilions.

Greenall's pitch had been water-logged but Mond's was in perfect condition as Rangers benefited.

Thompson tested the visitors' keeper, but the first clear chance fell to Greenalls. Taylor found himself clear but a last-ditch tackle by Linnett saved the day.

Mond, playing good football, caused problems for Greenall whose keeper denied Thompson, Lancaster and Nelson as Mond piled on pressure.

Three goals in four minutes virtually settled the game. Eddie Droughton continued his scoring spree, getting Mond's first in the 23rd minute.

This was quickly followed by a double strike by Scott Howard.

Mond continued to attack, Droughton shooting wide and then hitting the crossbar before getting his second in the 33rd minute.

Matty Nelson added the fifth before half-time, after good link-up on the right between Iddon, Linnett and Lancaster.

The second half proved a mere formality for Mond, Droughton had a goal disallowed, Nelson blasted over from six yards and then hammered wide when well positioned. Bushell saw a shot well saved before MoM Eddie Droughton completed his hat-trick and the scoring.

MOND: Percival, Iddon, Cogswell, Tull, Billington (capt), Linnett, Howard, Lancaster, Thompson, Nelson, Droughton. Subs: Bushell, Jones, O'Hara (all used).

Mond Rangers Bonanza was won by No.130 Jamie O'Hara. On Saturday, Mond Rangers host promotion favourites Merseyside Police in Carls-berg West Cheshire League, ko 2pm. Match sponsor is Ineos Fluor.

Mond boss John Crompton is more than happy with the recent run.

Reserve players have come in to stake claims for places, giving the manager a selection headache. Paul Jones is now available again, Michael Thompson returns after a five-week ban and Mark Savage is back.
