GRANGE Athletic bounced back from a weekend setback to clinch promotion to Division Two on Monday.

The Ellesmere Port outfit suffered a surprise 3-1 home defeat to Willaston Reserves on Saturday, leaving them needing to win one of their remaining two fixtures.

That victory duly arrived on Monday as Grange triumphed 3-1 at Mersey Royal.

Capenhurst Villa Reserves had an off day against Blacon YC Reserves on Saturday, crashing to a 2-0 defeat.

Tommy Brennan and Todd Reid were on the mark for the winners.

With their Division One status secured for another season, Castrol Social should attain mid-table respectability.

On Saturday, they turned in a below-par performance at home to Newton as a hat-trick from Kevin Gibbons and a Lee Prior effort anchored the victors to a 4-0 victory.

Monday action in Division Two saw Capenhurst Villa claim a 1-0 home win over Chester Nomads.
