NANTWICH Town are hoping to stage their first coaching camp exclusively for girls next month.

Head coach Steve Davis explained: 'It will be for girls aged 11-16 and will be the first time we have run something like this but we are trying to encourage more and more girls to play the game.'

The course will run between 9.15am and 2pm from Tuesday, August 17, to Friday, August 20, at Mal-bank HS.

The Dabbers are also staging two soccer schools during the school summer holidays.

The first will be held at Wrenbury Primary School between Tuesday, July 27, and Friday, July 30, while the second will be at Mal-bank HS between Tuesday, August 24, and Friday, August 27.

Spokesman Martin Stubbs said: 'The courses will be fun, challenging and rewarding and kids of all abilities will be very welcome. They will be delivered by FA-qualified, experienced coaches.'

Included in the courses will be individual skills and techniques, set piece moves, a penalty competition, a football trivia quiz, team competitions and fun games.

Awards will be handed out for best individual and team performances, and most improved player, and best player of the week awards are also on offer.
