ELLESMERE Port Under 14s sailed into the semi-final of the Cheshire Girls League's Knockout Cup with a comprehensive 6-1 victory against Halton.

The game sprung into life after only two minutes when Sian Clowes opened the scoring, converting a delightful through ball from Natalie Statham.

Shortly afterwards she latched on to another pass, provided by Emma Gray, and cheekily flicked the ball over the advancing keeper's head before netting from six yards.

Port carried on where they left off in the second half with Clowes again leaving the keeper stranded as she completed her hat-trick.

A sharp left-wing cross from Shauna Craig was volleyed home by Clowes for her fourth of the day before Emma Gray got on the scoresheet.

A superb solo goal from player-of-thematch Danielle Bentley finished off the scoring for Port before Halton grabbed a late consolation.

Port will face Witton Albion in the semi-final on Saturday.
