CHEMICS romped through this Runcorn FA Saturday Cup quarter-final with an overwhelming victory over their Warrington League visitors.
The Carlsberg West Cheshire Division one team opened the scoring after three minutes and netted at regular intervals after that.
While commendably, the Greenall's side did not stop trying, they were never at the races.
Chems' goals were scored by Tyrrell (4), Ward (4), Smith (3), Lunt (2) and Cannon (1).
Chemics are the current holders and will be joined in the semi-final draw by their own reserves side, who trounced FC Trannie 7-0.
Second-string boss Jay Maddock was pleased with the performance against last season's finalists, admitting: 'This was our best display of the season.' The reserves' goals were scored by Woolley, Stringer, McDonald, Hammond, Massey and Beech (2).
Chemics' first team must put district cup concerns to the back of their minds.
Next up are two important games in other knockout competitions - Mallaby at home in the Pyke Cup this Saturday (ko 1.45pm) and then Poulton Victoria, also at Pavilions, in the third round of the Cheshire Amateur Cup the following Saturday (November 29), ko 1.30pm.
General Chemicals are sponsored by RJM Maintenance of Runcorn.
