MIDDLEWICH hit back for a draw in the Mid Cheshire League First Division.

They began brightly but Garswood took the lead when a corner sailed directly into the net. Middlewich's claims that goal-keeper Paul Simpson had been impeded were waved aside.

Substitute Will Killey scored the equaliser in the 75th minute when Jimmy Rogers chipped the ball to the far post.

With Kyle Dyson promoted to first-team duty and others injured, Albion made a sluggish start. They were a goal down within five minutes, Scott Fullwood scoring.

A Full-wood chip made it 2-2 after the resumption only for Smith to restore Albion's lead, before Dean Ennion missed a penalty for the visitors. It allowed Lostock to make a comeback with two goals in the final 10 minutes, Peter Gibbon scoring after hitting the woodwork and James Birdsey stabbing home the winner.

MIDDLEWICH hammered Broadheath 6-1 in the Reserves Division, only to discover main rivals Daten had also won by the same scoreline.

WINNINGTON Avenue Reserves beat WINSFORD IPC 3-2 to join their first team in the Mid Cheshire FA Saturday Cup quarter-finals in January.

Meanwhile, Avenue's first team fought hard to force a 3-3 draw at Sandbach Town in the second round of the Crewe FA Junior Shield and will replay at home on Saturday.
