INSULT to injury was added as Runcorn dropped back into the UniBond Premier bottom three.

With none of the sides around them winning and some drawing against each other, this defeat wasn't on the face of it as damaging as it might have been.

But the Linnets will now be without central defensive kingpin Lee Siadankay for three games after he was shown a straight red card after the final whistle - unjustly according to Runcorn officials.

They claimed Siadankay had 'leaned into' a Frickley player after taking a blow to the ribs but couldn't believe it when the player was sent off for an elleged headbutt.

Both sides were unhappy with the referee Keith Lawson who had booked three players from each side, Siadankay included, while also dismissing Frickley's Nick Heinemann for a heavy tackle on Adam Hunter.

Keeper Robbie Holcroft made some fine saves but was helpless to prevent Martyn Woolford from hitting what proved the winner in the 31st minute.

RUNCORN FC HALTON: Holcroft, Phillips, Flood (Moore 82), O'Driscoll, Siadankay, Bowden, Hunter (Fitzsimmons 46), Scott, Lamb, Whalley, Locke (Furlong 46).
