STAR striker Jake Cassidy may not spend long with Airbus UK Broughton after earning a trial with Premiership side Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The 17-year-old former Llandudno Junction player, who Airbus had been tracking for some time before capturing him this summer, has been in top form during pre-season, scoring on his debut against an Everton XI and going on to bag six goals in five games.
Wolves want a closer look at Cassidy, who has spent this week on trial at Molyneux. He should return for action in Airbus’ opening Welsh Premier at home to Llanelli this Sunday.
Airbus boss Craig Harrison said: “Young Jake has done really. He has great ability.
“Having had the privilege of being a professional myself, I am delighted that Jake has such a great opportunity. He will be looked after by a Premier League club and I will encourage him every step of the way.”
If Mick McCarthy wants to keep Cassidy, he will have to put his hand in his pocket and produce a decent payout as Cassidy is firmly under contract at the Airfield.
Airbus completed their pre-season campaign with a 1-0 victory over Fylde.
