AIRBUS UK Broughton’s encouraging start to the pre-season campaign continued as they posted two excellent results.

They earned a 0-0 draw with Blue Square Premier side Southport at the Airfield on Saturday before defeating visitors Buckley Town 3-0 on Tuesday.

The Buckley game kicked off late – at about 8.05pm – as players and fans had trouble getting to the ground due to severe traffic delays in the Chester area.

Huws Gray Alliance visitors Buckley held Airbus to a 0-0 scoreline at the break, thanks mainly to the bravery of keeper Leon Bimpson.

But the Wingmakers grabbed an early goal in the second half – courtesy of striker Chris Budrys – and doubled their tally soon after through Mike Hayes.

Mike Roddy slotted home a penalty on the hour mark to seal a 3-0 win.

Airbus continue their pre-season programme with a trip to Trafford this Saturday. They host Chester FC on Tuesday (7pm).
