KELSALL saw their title hopes hit as they fell to their first defeat of the season in the Chester and District League on Saturday.

Currently second in the Queensferry Sports Premier Division, they slipped to a 2-1 home loss to Waggon and Horses. Neil Asbury scored for Kelsall but Sam Henry and Lee Whelan were on target for third-placed Waggon.

Goals from Matty Cross and Rob Joynson (pen) were not enough for BYC Highfield as they went down 5-2 at home to Lever Athletic, while Hoole Rangers saw off Crossway 3-0. The Hoole scorers were Graham Rishton, Liam Derkin and Warren Fowles.

In Olympic Trophies Division One, second-placed Chester Nomads 3rds fell to a 4-1 loss at Shaftesbury Youth.

Halfwayhouse Celtic, in third and with plenty of games in hand, racked up a 4-0 success at Ashton, Steve Hughes (2) leading the way.

Adi Gough hit two goals as Cestrian Alex saw off Hoole Rangers Reserves 4-0.

Tom Wilkinson scored the winner for Orange Athletic in their 1-0 victory at Chester Celtic, while Duddon United slipped up 3-2 at Raby Villa.

In Football Bootique Division Two, Neston Nomads won 5-3 at Orange athletic 2nds while Crossway Reserves lost 4-2 at home to Lodge Bar. Boughton Athletic beat Rangers Breaks 3-0.
