UPTON AA scored a shock 2-1 victory over Heswall in West Cheshire League Division One.

Top four side Heswall were undone at Cheshire County Sports Club when Nathan Freeman broke free and rounded the keeper for Upton’s first.

A Simon Andrews penalty sealed an unexpected win for mid-table Upton.

Another shock result saw BlaconYC pick up a point at home to Marine Reserves.

Blacon have been struggling to nail down points for a long time but a Will Collins strike cancelled out Kalumbe Mwande’s goal for Marine.

Helsby flexed their muscles against Christleton as the Swans went down 3-0 on the road.

Jamie Bignall, Sam Bailey and Matty Johnson found the net for Helsby.

In Division Two, Chester Nomads claimed a creditable 2-2 draw at Heswall Reserves, George Pulford and John Cadwallader scoring for Nomads.

Christleton Reserves also won in Division Three, beating Southport Trinity 3-2 with goals from Steve Finley (2) and Steve Morgan.

Upton AA Reserves were not so fortunate, suffering a 4-3 loss at Hale.

Derek Rogers, Sean Lynch and Mike Bowell scored for the Chester side but it was not quite enough.
