A CASH-STRAPPED football team is looking for sponsorship from local businesses.

Frodsham Town Junior Football Club Under 10's plays at Frodsham Community Centre every Saturday morning in The North Cheshire League and is an FA affiliated club.

The team finished the season having only been beaten three times and were winners of the Albert Steele Trophy.

However, organiser Aiden Wheatley wants to make Frodsham residents even more proud of their youngsters by improving on their season, but the team has run out of finance for basic kit.

Mr Wheatley said: 'Management and administration of our football team Under 10s is made up entirely of parents and helpers.

'This means parents do all the setting up of pitches, organising of tournaments, arranging matches and training sessions, refereeing duties and of course all the administration that goes along with running a junior football team.

'The constant demand for footballs, football kits, first aid items and entrance fees into tournaments takes its toll on a small local club like ours.

'Any donations however large or small would be greatly appreciated and if we could find a season-long sponsor for our team then that would be wonderful.'
