Crewe FC 0 Tarporley Vics 1

VICS got back to basics as they put in a workmanlike display to claim all three points.

A solid defensive display meant keeper Callum Reckless wasn’t really tested until the last 10 minutes.

The hosts enjoyed the majority of possession but Vics created most chances and eventually broke the deadlock on 65 minutes, Alan Moore netting the winner.

And Reckless saved the day late on with a stunning point-blank save following a free header.

Malpas were saved by a 92nd-minute winner in a 3-2 success at Denton Town.

Richard Desmond volleyed the visitors in front and Malpas were unlucky not to be further in front with two shots hitting the bar and one cleared off the line.

Rob Kennerley doubled the advantage on 65 minutes before Denton reduced the deficit and then levelled from the spot in the 89th minute.

But all credit to Malpas who didn’t let heads drop and grabbed a deserved winner through Desmond’s last-gasp header.
