PIPER fought back from a goal down to lift this season’s Bill Gresty Memorial Trophy.

Red Lion went in front but an Andy Taylor equaliser and goals from David Pasko and Andy Austin sent them through.

In Section A’s top-of-the-table clash, leaders Lache Park travelled to Dee Miller (Simon Andrews) and inflicted their first defeat of the season, Mike Edwards and Nathan Mapletoft scoring in a 2-1 triumph.

Chris Peters and Matty Kilgannon were on the mark as Tarvin Rex drew 2-2 at Castrol Social and Saltney Ferry won a thrilling clash 7-5 against Blacon S&SC.

Section B bottom side Bromfield put up a great fight but crashed 6-4 at home to Waverton. Steve Wordsworth, Liam Durcan, Ian Hughes and Andy Peters scored for Bromfield with Alan Hooley (3), Mark Lewis, Lee Stevens and Nick Kennedy grabbing the winning goals.

District Cup finalists Corner Pin lost 3-2 at home to Gardeners Arms (Gaz Breeze 2, Matt Rollings), and Frodsham beat Custom House 2-0. St Theresa’s won a tense basement battle 5-3 against Carlton and Lee Edwards hit a hat-trick as Greyhound went top with a 3-1 win at Anchor (Jason Lucas).
