MALPAS returned to winning ways in Division Two of the Cheshire League with a 4-0 win over Barnton on Saturday.

The team showed one change with Elliot Saywell taking over the gloves due to an injury to Keano Williams.

Malpas struggled early on but Roy Cardus netted on 10 minutes with a low strike from just inside the box.

This was followed a minute later when a ball from Ed Barlow found Lee Parry for the young striker to score from close in.

The home team made it three when Steve Watkins headed in from a set play on 75 minutes and substitute Dominic O’Keeffe completed the scoring with a shot from outside the box on 80 minutes.

Tarporley Vics slipped to a 1-0 defeat in the Division One basement battle with Billinge. Both sides have had a tough start to the season and were determined to get a result, but Adam Clare broke the deadlock in the 65th minute to steal the points for Billinge.
