SALTNEY SC were the day’s big winners in the Chester Sunday League.

They registered a 15-0 victory over AFC Werburgh’s in Concorde Trophies Section A.

Jake Gibbons (5), Craig Mayers (3), Sam Buckley (2), Tom Shone (2), Phil Whitaker, Chris Bailey and goalkeeper Chris Miss (penalty) netted.

Corner Pin returned to the summit thanks to a 5-1 away win at Highfield. Joey Desormeaux opened the scoring for the Pin and Neil Fields replied for the Highfield before Desormeaux added his second. Lee Stevens and Leon Whitley (2) sealed the win.

Saltney Ferry beat Dee Rangers 3-0, courtesy of goals from Chris Williams, Mike Marsh and Kevin Garland.

In Chester Chronicle Section B, AFC Hilton enjoyed a 4-0 victory over bottom club Red Door. An own goal and an effort from Saul Malpas made it 2-0 at the break. Garry Russell and Malpas completed the job for the draw specialists.

Leaders AFC Lache defeated FC Bull & Stirrup 4-0. Dale Gillmartin, Gary Radcliffe, Kevin McGovern and Jamie Kelly netted.

Promotion hopefuls Custom House recovered from going a goal down to defeat Hickory’s 5-1. Alex Grant (2), Adam Russell, Elliot Slade (pen) and John Davies netted.

Goals by Rich Edwards (2), Neil Astbury and Martin Fitzsimmons secured a 4-1 success for Tarvin against Tattenhall, while Spital Vaults beat Grosvenor Arms 5-2.
