TWO defeats in a week have left Airbus sweating on a top-10 finish in the Welsh Premier League.

Craig Harrison’s side went down 2-1 at home to Porthmadog on Saturday before slipping to a 3-0 loss at Bangor City on Tuesday.

Airbus looked certain to qualify for next season’s ‘Super 12’ top-flight after putting together an unbeaten seven-game run. But they have now hit a bad patch and face a fierce fight to claim one of the prized places.

Airbus need to finish in the top 10 to secure a Super 12 spot. The remaining two places will be taken by clubs from the Welsh Premier’s feeder leagues.

All clubs’ participation in the Super 12 in dependent on them being granted a licence by the FA of Wales – and Airbus are one of several clubs in the process of trying to secure theirs.

Airbus are away to Bala Town tomorrow and host Prestatyn next Wednesday (7.30pm).
