Carmarthen Town 1 Airbus 4
CRAIG Harrison’s side dispelled any fears their goal threat had been weakened by striker Jake Cassidy’s departure by consigning Carmarthen to defeat inside 45 minutes on Saturday.
The Old Gold were the architects of their own demise as early as the seventh minute, when Lee Bevan fouled Carl Owen inside the box. Defender Ryan Edwards stepped up to dispatch the resulting spot-kick.
Just before the half-hour the Wingmakers doubled their lead, – Danny Desormeaux rounding Town keeper Mike Lewis and rolling the ball home.
Ten minutes later it was 3-0 thanks to Andy Moran’s controlled finish.
But within 60 seconds Town had pulled a goal back, Tim Hicks applying the finish to a swift move.
After the break, boss Tomi Morgan rung the changes and Town showed a more backbone but no adventure.
Edwards missed a second penalty but five minutes from time Andy Moran slotted home a rebound off Lewis.
The gloss was taken off the win in injury time when Giovanni Feliciello, who had already received a booking, was sent off.
