EVERTON have changed their nickname – for one month only.

The self proclaimed People’s Club have enthusiastically embraced the Movember charity moustache initiative . . . and become the Village People’s Club!

Blues Sports Scientist Dave Billows, leading yesterday’s morning warm down, has the fiercest facial growth – a Gangs of New York style growth – while Thomas Hitzlsperger looks like he joined the moustache sprouting celebration just a couple of days ago.

Fair-haired Steven ‘five-a-side’ Naismith is also struggling to catch up, while Phil Jagielka is well on his way to the full walrus tache.

But the most startling Movember growth is fair-haired full-back Tony Hibbert’s belisha beacon growth – designed to stop flying wingers in their tracks.

During November each year, Movember is responsible for the sprouting of moustaches on thousands of men’s faces in the UK and around the world.

The aim is to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

Tomorrow is December. How many Blues moustaches survive remains to be seen!
