Several former Chester FC players will embark on a European adventure later this month as the 2016/17 Europa League competition gets under way.

Welsh Premier League side Gap Connah's Quay Nomads made club history last month when they emerged victorious in the Europa League play-off final against Airbus UK Broughton, with a host of ex-Blues aiding them on their way.

Ex-Chester players including John Danby, Paul Linwood, George Horan, Callum Morris, Kevin McIntyre, Jay Owen, Wes Baynes and Danny Harrison are all set to join Nomads' first foray into European competition when the first qualifying round starts on June 30.

While larger more well known European clubs won't come in until the third qualifying round and the group stage, with Manchester United, Fiorentina, Spartak Moscow and West Ham United among them, the first qualifying round offers Europe's minnows their chance to shine on the big stage.
