CHESTER CITY are hoping to conclude the signing of the Boston United striker Anthony Elding on loan later today, with City forward Drewe Broughton going in the opposite direction.

Twenty-four-year old Elding, who joined Boston from Stevenage Borough earlier this year, was a member of the Stevenage side that reached the Nationwide Conference play-off final in 2005.

Broughton joined City during the summer from Rushden and Diamonds, but has been unable to hold down a regular place in City’s starting line-up in recent weeks.

City manager Mark Wright said last night: "Hopefully all the formalities can be completed on Thursday. Anthony is a combative type of player and he will bring an added energy and dimension to the squad."

Wright is also chasing the Leyton Orient striker Lee Steele, and if a deal can be agreed, it is possible that the Liverpool-born player could be joining the Deva Stadium club prior to the weekend.

Chester are next in action on Saturday, when they travel to London to face Barnet at Underhill.

Midfielder Jamie Hand is ruled out of the game, he’s serving a one-match suspension after accumulating five bookings.

Meanwhile Chester have announced the prices for next Tuesday night’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy second round tie against Stockport County at the Deva Stadium.

Youngsters aged 15 and under will be admitted free to the game, there is no requirement for an adult to accompany the juniors.

The East Stand will be open for home supporters only and the West Stand will be allocated to Stockport fans.

Adults will be charged £15, while senior citizens will be admitted for £10.

The kick-off is at 7.45pm.
