STEWART Drummond has this week received double recognition for his enormous influence on the Blues' season so far.

As well as being handed the Chester City captaincy by Mark Wright in the absence of Michael Branch on Tuesday, the midfield playmaker was named the club's best player by FourFourTwo magazine.

This month's edition incorporates an in-depth feature on the top 50 Football League players, with Sheffield United's Phil Jagielka finishing top of the poll.

No Blues player featured in the top 50 but the magazine compiled a 'best of the rest' list that saw Drummond come out on top for Chester.

The Top 50 Football League players was compiled following votes by players and managers from all three divisions.

The April edition of FourFourTwo magazine is on-sale now.
