MANCHESTER United and Everton were unable to prevent the talented Blue Blazers disability team from lifting the All-Round Champions Trophy at a regional tournament.

The Blazers, part of the Crewe-based Cheshire Academy of Integrated Sport and Arts, beat the odds to win the title at the Greater Manchester Ability Counts tournament.

Disability teams representing United, Everton and Manchester City were brushed aside as they swept to victory.

Goals from Mark Hughes (2) and Joseph Harrison helped the Blazers A team to a 3-2 win over Tameside in their first game.

They fought back from one down against City to run out 4-1 winners, before a Tyler Minshull double earned a 2-0 over Everton in the final.

Meanwhile, the less-experienced Blazers B team were unlucky to go down 4-1 to Everton in their first match, but bounced back with a 3-1 success over United. The teams' combined efforts earned the trophy.
