NO LESS than five sides are in with a shout for the Holiday Inn Ellesmere Port League's Division Two title.

With leaders Ellesmere sidelined for the day, it was a great opportunity for rivals, Princes Rovers, Holiday Inn and RJS Sir Robert, to throw down the gauntlet and in the true spirit of competition they didn't disappoint.

Four-goal Graham Davies took the plaudits as Princes won 6-1 at Sutton Rangers, but not to be out-done, Holiday Inn's Steve James also struck four times in steering his side to a 7-1 win against bottom club The Phoenix Res.

In a tighter episode, thirdplaced Sir Robert edged a 3-2 decision over promotion rivals SCFC, thanks to goals from Ben Sherlock (2) and Steve Craven. Nick Healing and John Gibbs hit SCFC's consolations.

Top game in Division One featured top against second, with leaders Cat Carpet Craft sharing six goals with The Bull. Trevor Roberts, Danny Lloyd and Mark Ford plundered the goals for the home side, with the ageless Tony Livens bagging all three for The Bull.

Tony's son, Mark, made the scoresheet for The Sutton Way in their 2-2 nail-biter with Kingkabs. Efforts from Paul Merrick (2), Mark Cunningham and Mark Ellis paved the way for CCU to beat LPSC Strawberry, Stuey Jervis replying.

Following a defeat and a couple of close run affairs, Premier Division leaders and reigning champions Castrol Tessuti answered their critics in the best possible fashion and at the same time made a mess of Vauxhall's goal difference.

On target in Sunday's 10-0 blitz were John Powell (3), Carl Ngiam (2), Steve Morgan (2), Gary Scott, Peter Boyle and Ian Parry.

Cane Factory have been on the receiving end of late, but their fortunes changed for the better when Eric Fogg and Steve McCone came up with the goods in the 2-0 defeat of relegation threatened The Strawberry.

Despite strikes from Kev West and Darren Griffin, Dysett Rangers slumped to their seventh League defeat, after brothers Simon and Mike Thelwell were joined on the scoresheet by Jamie Murphy and John Merrill in clinching a 4-2 result for St Saviour's.

Fourth-placed The Woodlands had Paul Jones and Simon Parker to thank for their goals in a narrow 2-1 decision over Gunners Enterprise, Wes Begley pulling the trigger for the visitors.
