CHESTER schoolboy Danny Artell has taken a big step up the ladder to footballing fame.
The 14-year-old pupil of Bishops' High School, Great Boughton, has joined the Liverpool Academy where he is being coached by the former Chester City goalkeeper Billy Stewart.
Danny first pulled on the gloves with Newton Athletic when he was 10 and a year later joined Tranmere Rovers, playing his first game for the Wirral club against Chester.
He was released the following season and then linked up with another ex-Chester goalkeeper, Grenville Millington, with whom he still trains once a week.
A year ago, Danny was spotted by Liverpool playing for Newton in the Chester Sunday Junior League's U14 team and has been invited to join the Liverpool Academy next season.
He is a regular in his school team and recently enjoyed a trip to Spain to train at the Real Madrid Academy.
