NANTWICH took a step closer to St Andrews and roared: 'We can win the FA Vase!'
The Dabbers comfortably saw off Pickering Town in Sunday's quarter-final at Jackson Avenue, to set up a two-legged showdown with Cammell Laird next month for a place in the final.
Goals in either half from Matt Blake and Danny Griggs were just reward for a super performance. Now Steve Davis and his men truly believe they can lift the coveted trophy at Birmingham City's 30,000 all-seater stadium.
Chairman Clive Jackson said: 'I'm absolutely delighted. It's good for the town, something to shout about. There is no reason we can't get to the final and win it.
'On our day at this level we are as good as anybody. I think these boys are good enough. We don't mind being underdogs in the semi finals.'
Merseysiders Laird are on top form at the moment, and lie six places above the Dabbers in the North West Counties League Division One.
But player-boss Davis said: 'We have already played them and know what they are about. I think we will give them a good game over two legs.'
