BLUES boss Keith Curle returns from holiday this weekend to start his team-building campaign.

Only nine players have been offered new contracts and this week the club rubbished reports that three of them, Phil Bolland, Ben Davies and Stewart Drummond, had asked for transfers.

Chief executive Dave Burford said all three had been contacted on holiday and had denied the rumours.

Pre-season training starts on June 30 and City have arranged a trip to Cornwall as a team-bonding exercise, coupled with intensive training.

Chester go to Burton Albion to open their new Pirelli Stadium on Saturday, July 16. This will be City's second friendly, following the visit of Stoke City on Tuesday, July 12.

City will visit Droylsden on Saturday, July 23, TNS Llansantffraid on Tuesday, July 26 and meet Blackpool at home on Saturday, July 30.

There are also plans to meet a Premiership club at home. nFormer Chester boss Mark Wright is being strongly tipped to be the new manager of Peterborough United. His Chester successor, Ian Rush, has also applied for the job.
