BRAINTREE TOWN

Following the Iron’s 1-1 draw at Cheltenham Town on Tuesday night, Braintree players shook the hands of all 30 fans who made the 290-mile round trip.

Danny Cowley’s side managed to snatch a draw at Whaddon Road despite falling behind in the 90th minute.

BOREHAM WOOD

The Wood have signed winger Anthony Jeffrey on loan from Concord Rangers.

The 20-year-old ex-Arsenal youngster has played for the Wood twice before, once on loan from the Gunners and again after leaving Wycombe in 2014.

“I’ve had a good chat with him about the importance of showing me a good attitude, about applying himself and what I expect,” said boss Ian Allinson.

EASTLEIGH

The Spitfires have whittled down a list of over 70 applicants for the vacant manager’s position at the Silverlake Stadium to just eight candidates, with interviews set to take place by the end of the week.

Richard Hill left his role as manager at the end of September following a run of poor results.

FC HALIFAX TOWN

The Shaymen have appointed former Oldham Athletic manager Darren Kelly as their new boss.

The 36-year-old, who fills the void left by Neil Aspin’s sacking last month, started his reign in disastrous fashion, losing 7-1 at home to Cheltenham on Saturday, but his side bounced back with a 3-1 success at Altrincham on Tuesday.

KIDDERMINSTER HARRIERS

Bottom club Kidderminster have added ex-Tottenham Hotspur and Motherwell utility player Zaine Francis-Angol to their squad.

The 22-year-old, who can play at either left-back or left midfield, made his debut in the 1-1 draw with Boreham Wood on Tuesday, netting the opener on nine minutes.

TORQUAY UNITED

New Gulls manager Kevin Nicholson says his players will be given the freedom to express themselves.

Nicholson took over as player-manager at Plainmoor at the end of September following Paul Cox’s resignation, but has lost his first two games to Aldershot and Dover respectively.

“I need my attacking players to go past people,” said Nicholson.

“You want to players to express themselves and not feel you’ve caged them in.”

WOKING

Cards boss Garry Hill expresed his disappointment at a section of the crowd who booed his players off the pitch following Saturday’s 2-1 home defeat by Southport.

Hill said: “It was disappointed to hear one or two supporters booing, which I think had four or five years of the glory. At the end of the day we have to keep moving on but you can see things in people and I learnt for the first time at Woking with different things.”
