A CLOSE game in Soccer Funweeks Under 7s saw Saughall Colts beat Westminster Park Lions 3-2 at home.

Colts took the lead before Jack Booth and Liam Bytheway-Jackson struck the winners while MoM Nathan Bowker hit the replies. Colts MoM was Sam Richards.

Brandon Burrows and Jake Tonge goals were too good for a Daniel Clewley strike as Blacon Youth beat Newton Athletic 2-1.

Nomads could not match a stronger Newton Athletic side in the Olympic Trophies Under 9 Cup. The game finished 2-1 with defender Sean Maddocks scored. MoM was Nathan Ainsworth. Newton's Liam Maddrell and Joel Sampson grabbed the glory with MoM Marley Jones.

Christleton Newscene fared better beating Malpas and District at home 3-1. Luke Chard bagged a brace and Harry Warr also scored to take MoM.

Barnaby Preece scored early for Malpas, whose MoM was Andrew Hulmes.

Boughton beat Upton Panthers 2-0 through Scott Hamilton and Liam Davenport, who won MoM.

Scott Evans got a home brace for Waverton Wasps against Saughall Colts, while MoM Dan Hamp also struck to make it 3-1.

In the Under 9 Shield Upton Jaguars lost 3-0 at home to Waverton Hornets. Joe Layder struck twice for Waverton's first win of the season and an own goal added to Jaguar woes. MoM were Tom Noble, and Sunam Husain for Upton.

Tattenhall were also beaten on home ground as they entertained Blacon Youth. Blacon's Sonny Dawson (2), MoM Ryan McKay and Joseph Jones pounced to make it 4-1.

But Conner Walker and Owen Mackin ensured Hoole Hornets were safe as they beat visitors Westminster Park Tigers 2-0. MoM was Cameron Tye, and Tigers' was Patrick Prewitt Wagner.
