CHESTER CITY have been rocked by a series of injuries and a suspension as they prepare for tonight's important Carling Cup first round tie with Wolves.

Definitely ruled out of the trip to Molineux are Dave Artell, Abdou El Kholti, Marcus Richardson, Gregg Blundell, and Craig Dove.

Last Saturday's goalscoring hero Ryan Lowe will also miss the match, after being sent off at Rushden.

However, Chester boss Keith Curle moved swiftly last night to bolster his squad by signing former Barnsley and Rochdale midfielder Leo Bertos.

Curle played with the 24-year-old New Zealand international during his time at Barnsley and knows all the player's attributes.

"He plays on the right side of midfield and he certainly knows his way to goal which is a bonus."

Curle spent four happy years as a player at Molineux and he is relishing returning with his Chester side.

"Molineux is a fantastic stadium and it's a place where players strive to play, and no Chester player will go their and embarrass themselves," said Curle.

The Midlands side is expected to give a debut to new signing Darren Anderton.
