CHESTER CITY are looking to pump up the volume at the Deva Stadium in the nerve-jangling run-in to the Conference season.

City have approached local authorities to turn the South Terrace section of the stadium, which is normally occupied by visiting supporters, to their own fans for the final three home matches.

"We are approaching the appropriate authorities," said City chairman Steven Vaughan. "We will ask all three clubs what they expect their travelling support to be, and segregate as many spaces as they require. "It would then enable more people from the North West to come to the Deva Stadium and hopefully cheer us on to the club's first ever championship.

"The interest in Chester City is fantastic at the moment."
