CHESTER CITY were today set to sign Southampton striker Eddie Anaclet - and name the player in the squad to face Halifax Town in the FA Cup tomorrow.

The 20-year-old, a regular for Saints' second string this season, can play on the right side of midfield or as a right-sided striker.

City assistant boss Mark Aizlewood said: "Eddie is a kick and direct player, and is extremely well thought of at Southampton.."

Chester are expected to take a large following with them for tomorrow's trip to The Shay, with a support of over 1,000 expected to make the journey to Yorkshire.

City will be without Phil Bolland, Ben Davies, Stewart Drummond, and Cortez Belle through suspension, while leading scorer Michael Branch is sidelined with an ankle injury.

City boss Ian Rush said: "When you are a player at a club like Liverpool, you dream of scoring the winning goal in the FA Cup final.

"Now as manager of Chester, the dream is of getting to the third round when of course there's every chance of drawing a Premiership club. That's the ambition."

Meanwhile, tickets are on sale at the club's Bumpers Lane offices for next Saturday's all ticket league encounter with Shrewsbury Town.
