Who's playing?

Chester FC v Tranmere Rovers – Vanarama National League.

When and where?

Sunday, February 28 (12 noon) at the Lookers Vauxhall Stadium.

Any team news?

Full-back Ryan Higgins and striker James Alabi, who came off the bench to net a stunning equaliser in the 2-2 draw at Kidderminster Harriers last time out, are pushing to start for the Blues on Sunday and could partner 19-goal Ross Hannah in a two-pronged attack.

Luke George's hamstring injury picked up in the FA Trophy loss at FC Halifax Town a fortnight ago looks set to rule him out once more while youngsters Danny O'Brien, Sam Hughes and Ryan Lloyd could keep out the more experienced trio of Craig Mahon, John Rooney and Johnny Hunt out of the side once again.

Tranmere welcome back Steve Jennings from suspension but ex-Chester City midfielder Jay Harris won't be turning out for Rovers after picking up his 10 booking of the season last time out.

What has Steve Burr had to say about it?

The Blues boss said: "This Sunday there's no pressure on us. The pressure is from ourselves as individuals to go and win the game but we're in a bit of a no-lose situation because we can go and enjoy it but we'll enjoy it more if we get the right result.

"I think it gives you greater satisfaction when you get a result against teams with the resources Tranmere have got and that gives you a better sense after the game when you've managed to turn them over.

"It'll be tough because they're a side full of experienced lads who have been there and done it so we know how difficult it's going to be.

"But I know that with the crowd behind us and a full house, like we have done against Wrexham for the past couple of season, let's get that going again this Sunday."

Tell me about Tranmere...

Having fallen into non-league football for the first time in their history at the end of last season on the back of successive relegations, Tranmere have taken time to adapt to their new surroundings.

Having bobbed around just outside the play-offs for much of the campaign, Gary Brabin's side have moved up a gear in recent weeks and look to be hitting form at the right time.

Last weekend's 1-0 defeat at home to league leaders Cheltenham Town was their first defeat in five, with Rovers having won four and drawn one of those games.

The addition of experienced heads such as Steve McNulty, Gary Taylor-Fletcher and Michael Higdon, allied with the likes of James Norwood, sees Tranmere with one of the most talent-rich squads in the National League, although their inconsistent form during much of the campaign would suggest otherwise.

But a squad that promised so much at the start of the campaign is now beginning to find its rhythm as the business end of proceedings edges ever closer.

What happened the last time the two sides met?

The first clash between the two sides in 24 years ended in a comfortable 2-0 success for Tranmere over the Blues at Prenton Park back in September.

A poor display from the Blues saw Rovers net twice in the opening half through Liam Hogan and Norwood, with Steve Burr's men unable to muster a fightback in the second period as Brabin's charges coasted to victory.
