Who's playing?

Chester FC v Maidstone United.

When and where?

Saturday, August 13 (3pm) at the Lookers Vauxhall Stadium.

Any team news?

After such an excellent team display in the 3-0 win over Dagenham & Redbridge on Tuesday night, Blues boss Jon McCarthy will likely line up with the same starting XI that began against the Daggers.

Evan Horwood was subbed off with 15 minutes remaining on Tuesday as a precautionary measure owing to a tight hamstring but he should be fit enough to take his place against the Stones.

Ross Killock has been in training all week and looks to have overcome a troublesome calf injury that had sidelined him for much of the pre-season campaign and he could be pushing for a place on the bench.

Tell me about Maidstone United...

Maidstone United rose from the ashes of the defunct former Football League club of the same name in 1992 and have finally fought their way back to non-league football's top table after finishing last season as National League South play-off champions.

Manager Jay Saunders's side started their National League campaign on Saturday with a 1-1 draw at home to York City in a game televised live on BT Sport. But Tuesday night saw them return from Aldershot Town empty handed after going down 1-0 at the Recreation Ground.

The Stones have a direct style of play but have plenty of quality in their ranks and midfielders Alex Flisher and Ben Greenhalgh have the talent to cause headaches.

Greenhalgh won the Sky One TV show 'Football's Next Star' in 2010, beating of competition from 20,000 hopefuls to win a six-month contract with Italian giants Inter Milan, then managed by current Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.

What has Jon McCarthy had to say about it?

"We have seen them already and saw the game against York on their (Maidstone's) plastic pitch and there is a lot of enthusiasm from them," said McCarthy.

"They are very direct and have a lot of energy. They are a threat from set pieces and we will look at that in training but we will have to see how they cope with grass, though. That might be interesting and could change things.

"They lost at Aldershot in midweek in a game where they thought they probably could have got something, so we'll be prepared."
