THE Evo-Stik League First Division North title is now Chester’s to lose after Skelmersdale United lost their crucial game in hand.

Second-placed Skem’s 1-0 defeat at Lancaster City this evening means the Blues remain one point clear at the top and with their destiny back in their own hands.

Neil Young’s table-toppers will lift the championship if they win their final three matches of the season – at home to Bamber Bridge on Saturday and then away to AFC Fylde on Monday and Garforth Town next Friday.

Skem’s last three games sees them host Curzon Ashton on Saturday, travel to Prescot Cables on Monday before completing their campaign at home to Ossett Albion next Friday.
