Scotland under-19s forward Oliver McBurnie has joined Chester FC on loan from League One club Bradford City.

McBurnie, 18, trained with the Chester squad on Thursday morning and manager Steve Burr confirmed the 6ft 2ins teenager would feature in Saturday's home game with Kidderminster Harriers (3pm).

"Ollie's a centre forward and a young lad so he's one that comes into the squad and we're looking forward to working with him," said Burr.

"He's been involved in Bradford's first team, he's 18 coming up to 19 and a lad with plenty of potential.

"Ollie's got a bit more experience of the Football league and he's been involved with the Scottish national side as well so I'm looking forward to having him on board with us.

"He's a target-man so it gives us a few options up there that we haven't had over the last few weeks."

Leeds-born McBurnie is held in high regard at Valley Parade and he signed a three-year contract with the Bantams at the end of 2012-13 season.

He spent time at Manchester United to gain experience in summer 2013, scoring five goals in five games to help them win the Milk Cup.

McBurnie has been a prolific scorer in Bradford's academy, scoring 29 times in just 17 games for the under 18s in 2013-14, and his first senior appearance came in an FA Cup tie in November 2013. He featured nine times last season and has made another 10 appearances this season.

McBurnie qualifies for Scotland through his parents and made his debut for the under-19s in a 1-1 draw with the Netherlands in November.
