Chester FC have confirmed Tranmere Rovers will visit the Swansway Chester Stadium for a pre-season game on Wednesday, July 30.

Rovers were relegated to League Two last season and the Birkenhead club have a new manager in Rob Edwards.

A planned game at Conference North side Stalybridge Celtic on Saturday, August 2, has been replaced with a trip to Evo-Stik Division One South outit Stafford Rangers on the same date.

Steve Burr and his squad begin pre-season training on Monday and will face ex-Blues assistant manager Carl Macauley and his Marine side at the Arriva Stadium on Saturday, July 12.

Upton AA welcome the Blues on Tuesday, July 15, in a game marking the West Cheshire League club's 50th anniversary.

League One side Crewe Alexandra are the visitors on Saturday, July 19, and Premier League club Burnley will send a development side on Tuesday, July 22.

Burr's men will visit Witton Albion on Saturday, July 26, and Newcastle Town on Tuesday, July 29.

Championship side Wolves will send a development to the Swansway Chester Stadium on Tuesday, August 5, in the final pre-season game.

Blues officials have confirmed admission to the game and all other home pre-season fixtures will be £5 for adults and free for under 18s.

Burr and his squad will take part in an open training session at the Swansway Chester Stadium from 4pm on Thursday, August 7.

Following the session, the team will be in the Blues Bar for a question and answer sessions and to meet supporters.
