ANTONI Sarcevic has praised his Chester FC team-mates for their relentless form.

The Blues have won 16 and drawn two of their last 18 league matches to open up a 13-point lead over second-placed Guiseley, whose manager Steve Kittrick was at the Exacta Stadium to watch last Wednesday’s 2-0 win over Oxford City.

During that run top scorer Sarcevic has scored 11 times, with his double in the 6-0 success at Hinckley United on Saturday taking his tally in all competitions up to 14.

But the highly rated midfielder, who is the Blue Square Bet North’s player of the month, is quick to share in his success.

Sarcevic said: “You can’t argue with what the lads are doing.

“Week in and week out we are putting in the performances and with other teams keep coming down to watch us, it’s good to do it.

“It was a new bunch of lads at the start of the season and, while we all had experience and we all knew we were going to do well, the start we’ve had has been great. You can’t argue with it and we’ve just got to keep it up.

“You’ve got to keep looking over your shoulder but I’m sure it’s the same with Guiseley – they’ll be looking out for everything we’re doing.

“It’s looking like a two-horse race but we’ve just go to keep doing what we’re doing, let them see we’re winning, and we’ll be fine.”
