THE Red Arrows have been cleared for a flypast over the Deva Stadium this Saturday (August 7).

There had been fears that the eagerly-awaited appearance of the world-renowned display team would be cancelled after their RAF Hawk jets were grounded over safety fears relating to their ejector seats.

But the relevant inspections have been carried out and the jets have been cleared to fly again – which is great news for Chester FC fans heading to Saturday’s friendly match against Marine (3pm kick-off).

Chester FC board member Jeff Banks said: “We’re delighted with the news.

“The Red Arrows are considering my request for blue and white smoke, or even just blue smoke. Fingers crossed!”

The flypast will take place at 2.18pm. The jets will be flying from a south-easterly direction, which will mean they are likely to arrive over the away end/main stand before banking off to the left in the direction of Hawarden.
