In a bid to improve its communication with fans, Chester FC have launched a new initiative.

Having come in for some criticism over a perceived lack of communcation with supporters on some issues, the club have now set up a monitored email address that will respond to queries within 24 hours.

The email address fans@chesterfc.com, which is already up and running, will be monitored on a daily basis and has been introduced to help fans get answers to their questions in a timely fashion.

CEO Mark Maguire said: "One of my priorities when I came to the club was to look at ways we can improve communication.

"We have long term plans which include a new website and a more strategic approach to our social media presence but this new email address is a very simple way of fans communicating directly with the club.

"We hope that the idea will be received positively for questions or feedback, and perhaps even more importantly it will establish a direct route for us to monitor fans feelings, priorities and concerns."

The club have also reached an agreement with Carlsberg to extend their sponsorship at the Lookers Vauxhall Stadium by a further two years.

The agreement, which includes advertising in the ground and programme, is significant for the club according to Maguire.

The Blues' CEO told the club's official website: "I am delighted to have secured an extension to the Carlsberg deal which gives us two more years of support financially and in terms of the operation of our bars, this is an international company who see the benefit of a partnership with Chester FC for commercial as well as community reasons, and can only be good news for the club."
