Jamie Menagh is hoping for another chance to shine in front of the cameras after his stand-out performance in the win at Cambridge United.

Menagh provided a constant menace down the left wing as the Blues claimed all three points, meaning a win against Salisbury City on Saturday (5.30pm) will guarantee survival.

“I thought it  went really well and hopefully I have done enough to keep my place,” said the 20-year-old, making his first start in four games.

“The manager spoke to me when he left he out and said the reason was because I’m not the strongest.

“But before the Cambridge game he said he thought we needed more pace and needed to win, and after the game he seemed well pleased.”

BT Sport are screening the game live on Saturday and Menagh is keen for another star turn.

He netted a last-gasp winner last time the cameras visited the Swansway Chester Stadium for the 2-1 win over FC Halifax Town in February.

“I’ve seen a few tweets saying it might be a bad thing for us to be on television but I reckon it’s a good thing,” said Menagh.

“It’s a chance for me to show what I can do and the lads are all buzzing after the win on Monday.”

Menagh linked up well with left back Kevin McIntyre at the Abbey Stadium and believes the veteran defender deserves credit for his recent performances.

“Kev hasn’t got the legs anymore so it’s great for me because he gives me the ball and lets me do all the running,” said Menagh.

“He’s a great defender and it’s good to know he’s there behind me though.”

Menagh was quick to praise  the 306 supporters who made the long trip to Cambridgeshire on Easter Monday.

“Our fans are always quality but I was surprised at how many made the journey,” he said.

“It’s mad to see how many fans we take to every away game.

“They never stopped singing and there were flares and everything. It was unreal

“I don’t think I heard the home fans sing once and it was great at the end when all the lads went over to celebrate with the fans.”

With so much riding on the game, there will be plenty of nerves on the pitch and in the stands this weekend but Menagh is backing the Blues to complete the task.

He said: “I don’t really let it get to me to be honest.

“The manager does a great job and I don’t think the lads are felling about it too much.

“We just need to play football like we know we can and I’m sure everything will be alright.”
