LIAM Brownhill and Chris Simm will undergo late fitness tests before tonight’s visit of Kendal Town to the Exacta Stadium (7.45pm).

The in-form duo are both rated as doubtful after picking up knocks in Saturday’s 3-0 win at Worksop Town.

Right-back Brownhill has a groin strain while striker Simm has a damaged toe and they are in danger of joining Michael Wilde, Ashley Williams and Jerome Wright on the injured list.

That is the last thing Chester FC boss Neil Young wants. He will also be without captain George Horan this evening with a one-match ban incurred for the red card he received in the 4-1 defeat at Nantwich Town.

Since that derby defeat the Blues have won three straight games and victory over an in-form Kendal side would haul them within two points of top spot.

Christian Smith will move back into the centre of defence to take the place of the suspended Horan with the fit-again Alex Brown stepping off the bench and into midfield.
