Chester FC have announced experienced targetman Chris Iwelumo has signed on for the 2014-15 season.
Iwelumo, 35, has scored over 120 goals in more than 550 senior appearances with his career taking in the Premier League, Championship, Scottish Premiership and spells in Denmark and Germany.
He won four caps for Scotland between 2008 and 2010, and finished last season with St Johnstone, helping them win the Scottish Cup for the first time.
Iwelumo has now moved to the Swansway Chester Stadium after manager Steve Burr convinced the 6ft 3ins forward to spearhead the Blues attack.
Burr said: "Chris will be a big addition to the squad and like the rest of the lads we’ve got together, he can’t wait to get started.
"He’s experienced, big and strong and he will be a real handful to play against.
"When we found out he was available we had a chat and as soon as he came to the stadium and saw the training facilities we have and listened to our plans he wanted to be part of that.
"He will add some great experience to what is quite a young squad we are working with."
Coatbridge-born Iwelumo began his career with St Mirren but switched to Danish club Aarhus Fremad in 1998.
Iwelumo moved to Stoke City in 2000 and helped the Potters win promotion to the Championship before two successful seasons with Colchester United, netting 35 times in 92 games.
He then moved to Wolverhampton Wanderers and helping the Molineux club gain promotion to the Premier League.
Iwelumo signed for Burnley in 2010 and scored 11 goals in 45 games but switched to Watford after 12 months.
Loan spells with Notts County and Oldham Athletic followed before he moved to Scunthorpe United last summer, switching to St Johnstone in January.
Iwelumo has signed a 12-month deal with the Blues and will start pre-season training with the rest of the squad on Monday, July 7.
He said: "Chester are a big club and I just want to get going in pre-season and take it from there.
"The stadium is impressive and I’m looking forward to pulling on the shirt."
