A fundraising race night is being held at Chester FC's Lookers Vauxhall Stadium on Friday evening to help ensure former Blues can be offered a helping hand in later life.

Chester Former Players Association (FPA) have organised the race night, which takes place in the Blues Bar and starts at 7.30pm.

Admission is free and supporters are encouraged to go along for a fun evening, back a winner and raise money for the FPA.

Alan Tarbuck, chair of the FPA, said: “We’re already seeing plenty of interest and a lot of horses and jockeys have been sold ahead of the evening.

“Among the aims of the FPA is to help any ex-Chester players who may need a helping hand later in life and we need to raise funds to help with this.”

Supporters and businesses can purchases horses for £5 and jockeys for £3 with successful owners and jockeys receiving prize money and winning punters getting a pay-out too.
