With Monday very much dominated by Chester FC 's 3-1 defeat at Woking, Tuesday has been just as busy with plenty of Blues news.

Plenty has been going on today and we have brought all the news together for you with our daily digest.

MACCA'S ADMISSION

The Blues boss offered a frank and honest appraisal of yesterday's 3-1 defeat at the hands of the struggling Cards.

"I've made a few mistakes," said the Blues boss.

"I've got stuff wrong with the team (Woking) and I haven't got it right.

"We made a lot of changes with the right intentions. We spent a lot of time on Woking, we are not complacent. I just didn't see some stuff and I made some wrong decisions which hasn't helped the lads."

UNDER-18 WOMEN'S SIDE LOOKING FOR NEW MANAGEMENT

Chester FC Women are seeking to appoint a manager and assistant manager for the club's new under-18s side.

Following an excellent first season in which the club's open age team finished fourth in the Cheshire Women's League, the Blues have entered the Youth Division for the 2016/17 campaign.

Through Chester FC Community Trust, the club is committed to developing the women's game and has exciting plans for the future with the under-18s central to realising these ambitions.

The ideal candidates will be keen to build a career in women's football coaching, passionate about helping players fulfil their potential and have the highest levels of professionalism and organisation.

PLAYER RATINGS

After the disappointment of yesterday's defeat at Woking you can see how the players fared individually.

Ryan Lloyd came out on top being the only Chester player to reach 7/10 while two players received 5/10.

KANE'S VIEW

Chester striker Kane Richards gave his thoughts after the loss at Woking. Here's what he had to say.

"We started off a bit sloppy and bit slow and we keep killing ourselves giving us mountains to climb," said the Blues striker.

"We know we have to be better than that to beat teams like Woking. It's down to us. We have to go and take the game to teams."

SAD DEATH OF FORMER BLUE

Reg Matthewson, a member of Chester FC's squad during the famous run to the League Cup semi-final in 1974/75, has died at the age of 77.

Matthewson spent three seasons with Chester after signing in 1973 and played more than 80 games for the Blues and skippered the side that won promotion from Division Four in 1975 and reached the semi-finals of the League Cup.

The Sheffield-born defender played in all eight games of the cup run and was a popular figure during his time with the Blues.

Matthewson died suddenly whilst on a family holiday near Malaga, Spain, yesterday morning.

YOUNG RETIRES FROM FOOTBALL MANAGEMENT

Former Chester boss Neil Young has retired from management after stepping down as manager of Altrincham after six games in charge.

Three draws followed by three defeats in the National League North had seen Young, who took over from Lee Sinnott as boss in the summer, come under pressure.

A 4-2 defeat by Curzon Ashton at the weekend proved the final straw for Young, who led Chester to three successive league titles, and he informed Alty chairman Grahame Rowley of his decision to stand down and walk away from football management altogether.
