THERE is no chance of Chester FC players losing fitness during their enforced break after the club joined forces with a city gym.
While teams across the country struggle to train in the wintry weather, Neil Young’s men have been given the full use of Total Fitness on Liverpool Road.
Blues boss Young said: “The deal with Total Fitness gives us the beauty of training indoors.
“When I was at Colwyn Bay, at this time of year it was very hard to get in any fitness work as even things like road running are out of the question.
“So we’re grateful to Total Fitness for giving us full access to the gym. We’re training there two nights a week and we’ve already built up a really good relationship with them.”
Young has been frustrated to see Chester’s last two games fall victim to the cold snap.
But his biggest bugbear has been his inability to fully utilise Antoni Sarcevic.
The 18-year-old’s loan deal from Crewe Alexandra runs out after the trip to Curzon Ashton on December 18 – and Young is keen to use the player in as many games as possible before then.
But Crewe boss Dario Gradi this week revealed he could recall the midfielder early if his side’s injury problems fail to improve.
Gradi said: “Antoni is doing well at Chester and we could call him back if we wanted.
“He is still learning and can be erratic with where he goes on the pitch, but he could do that central role for us.”
