CHESTER FC are the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division champions!

The Blues, roared on by an incredible club record 5,009 crowd, sealed their second straight title and automatic promotion to the Blue Square North by drawing 1-1 at home to nearest rivals Northwich Victoria.

Second-placed Vics opened the scoring in the 47th when former Chester midfielder Kyle Armstrong headed home from close range.

The visitors were reduced to 10 men in the 80th minute when centre-back Ian Kearney was shown a second yellow card.

And five minutes later Neil Young's men got the goal that ensured they claimed the championship.

What a goal it was, too, as top scorer Matty McGinn cut inside on to his left foot and hammered home from 25 yards.
