CHESTER CITY chairman Stephen Vaughan and manager Ian Rush will sit down this morning to discuss the club's player requirements to steer City to safety in this their first season back in the Football League.

City, currently in 21st position in League Two and nine points away from the relegation zone, face a testing last 10 matches of the season.

"I will sit down with Ian and see where he considers we need to strengthen the squad. I would imagine we need two players to bolster us in our runin, and that's the sort of discussion we will have," said Vaughan. "It has already been documented we would like to bring in Andy Parkinson from Grimsby Town, and an official approach has been made.

"Once we have decided where we need to strengthen, and who would fit the bill, we will see what we can do to obtain them before the transfer deadline."

Vaughan continued: "When the season is completed and safety achieved, I will again meet Ian formally and see what measures we need to take to improve next season. My ambition for Chester City remains undiminished, and there will be certain objectives that must be attained next year."

Meanwhile, City yesterday completed the signings of Robbie Booth and Michael Walsh - products of the youth system, who have figured in the first team this season.

Chester are next in action tomorrow when they travel to Wycombe Wanderers.

Flu victims Michael Brown and Ashley Sestanovich are now fit, but captain Paul Carden is suspended.
