CHESTER City have been granted permission to bring in a goalkeeper on an emergency loan.

Regular number one John Danby was injured at Notts County on Saturday and ruled out for the rest of the season, leaving boss Mark Wright without a senior stopper.

Despite the fact Chester are currently working under a transfer embargo, the Football League have agreed to let them bring in a keeper.

Football League spokesman John Nagle said: "The Football League have granted the request for a seven-day loan, which can be renewed with the Football League's consent."

Wright is hoping to tie up a signing in time for Saturday's home match with Macclesfield Town (3pm kick-off).
