SOME of the best players ever to pull on a City shirt will come together next month for a one-off Legends Night – and you could be there to meet your heroes.

The Chester Chronicle has teamed-up with the event’s organisers, unified supporters group City Fans United (CFU), to offer our readers the chance to win one of two pairs of tickets we are giving away.

Taking place at the Divas’ Showbar on Station Road in Chester on Thursday, December 3 (8pm start), organisers are hoping the night – which will be compered by local comedian and Blues fan Bobby Brown – will prove to be the biggest reunion of former City stars in recent memory.

There will also be an auction, raffle and disco to help raise funds for the CFU in their aim to help safeguard professional football within the city of Chester.

Jeff Banks, co-organiser of the event, said: “It’s been great to get in touch with so many Chester players, some of whom I used to idolise in my younger days. We’re hoping to have players spanning five decades, including the likes of Graham Barrow, Grenville Millington, Gary Talbot, Milton Graham, Andy Milner and Eddie Bishop.”

To be in with a chance of winning our competition, all you have to do is answer the following question:

Which Chester City legend, who both managed and played for the club, is currently on the coaching staff at the Premier League’s Wigan Athletic?

Send your answer on a postcard to Legends Night Competition, Sportsdesk, The Chester Chronicle, Chronicle House, Commonhall Street, Chester, CH1 2AA. Please include your name, address and daytime telephone number. Closing date for entries is Friday, November 27.

There are a limited number of tickets remaining for the Legends Night.

They can be purchased online at or by calling CFU Events on 07925 519418 or Dave Cartwright on 07943 495841.
